DIY Paper Bag Clutch

AN ORDINARY PAPER BAG ... OR IS IT?

If you've been sitting on top of the graffiti-ed walls of the DIY blog-o-sphere, waving your coloured kicks in the air like a cool kid in the '90s, you'll know that the "paper" bag clutch has been trending like mad. Started by designers like Jil Sander and Marie Turnor, this clutch is perhaps the kitschiest thing to turn into a fashion statement. And hey, I'm not complaining. I'm a big fan of the Kitsch.

And of course, I was itching in my seat to make my own. Since I couldn't get my hands on some soft leather (like Turnor's bag), I decided to opt for this weird faux gold lamé material and closed it up with the kitschiest accessory of all: a large safety pin.

Definitely excited to use this, but I'm saving this goodie bag for London because I genuinely don't think the people of Singapore will get it (I showed it to my mum and she thought the statement I was trying to make was "I'm poor and I like it, that's why I'm carrying a take-away bag").

Let me know what you think, and if you've tried this DIY for yourself.

xx
